La radiothérapie du cerveau et de la sphère ORL nécessite une très grande précision afin de ne pas endommager les tissus sains. Les masques servent à bloquer la tête ou l'ensemble tête/cou/épaules.

The radiotherapy of the brain and of the sphere ENT makes necessary a very great precision not to damage the healty tissues. The masks serve to block the head or the group head/neck/shoulders.

 

 

 

 

 

Côté visage, un trou a été pratiqué pour le nez (rassurant).

Side face, a hole was made for the nose (reassuring).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Côté nuque sont notés nom, prénom du patient, références destinées aux opérateurs.

Sur chaque face des repères ont été tracés.

Le masque est fixé sur le lit au moyen de clips.

The mask is blocked on the bed by means of clips.

 

 

 

 

Installation du patient - Une cale est placée sous la tête, une autre, avec deux gouttières, une pour chaque jambe, les maintiens repliées. Le lit est étroit et dur pour éviter de bouger.

Installation of the patient - A chock is put under his head, another, with two grooves, one for every leg, maintains them folded up. The bed is narrow and hard to avoid moving.

Les séances de rayons sont terminées. J'ai gardé le masque en souvenir.

The X-rays' sessions are ended. I kept the mask in memory.

 

 

Très fatiguée, je vais dormir. Je vous expliquerai cela plus  tard.

Very tired, I am going to sleep. I shall explain it later.

 

Pour éviter d'oublier quelque chose (comme cela arrive de temps en temps), j'ai tout regroupé dans un petit sac qui ne sert qu'à cet usage (séances de radiothérapie).

To avoid forgetting something (like this happens sometime), I grouped all in a little handbag which served for this use only (radiotherapy).

 

A l'intérieur on trouve : une carte à code barre indispensable pour éviter les erreurs de traitement, le planning des rendez-vous, une petite boîte pour l'appareil dentaire, un porte-feuilles (avec les ordonnances, la carte Vitale, la carte de l'ambulance), une pochette et quelques mouchoirs.

Inside, we find :a bar-coded card indispensable to avoid the mistakes of treatment, the shedule of the rendez-vous, a small box for the brace, a wallet (with prescriptions, Vitale-card, the card of the ambulance), and a breast poket handkerchief.

 

 

Il y a aussi un tee-shirt très échancré pour ne pas gêner la pose du masque.

There is too a tee-shirt very notched to don't cramp the installing of the mask.

 

Enfin un nécessaire de coiffure et des anxiolytiques en cas de crise de panique.

In the end, a dressing case and some anxiolytics in case of attack of panic.
